The Oklahoma Department of Transportation announces the winners of the 2025 Trash Poster Contest.
Fourteen Oklahoma students have been recognized for their artistic efforts in creating posters that emphasize the importance of keeping Oklahoma highways litter-free while highlighting the upcoming Route 66 100th anniversary. The winning artwork will be featured in the state's 2026 calendar aimed at promoting awareness for a clean environment. The free calendar will be released in December.
Contestants from kindergarten through 12th grade were divided into two elementary school categories plus middle school and high school categories, with three winners awarded in each. Winners will receive a variety of prizes, including monetary awards, T-shirts, certificates, poster boards, and laminated copies of their artwork. Additionally, the teachers of these students will be awarded vouchers for classroom supplies and two-night vouchers to an Oklahoma State Park, courtesy of the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation. This year's winners include students from Adair, Kay, and Tulsa counties. Over 4,000 entries were received for this year's contest.
