The city-wide cleanup in Cherryvale starts today.
From now until Saturday, cleanup items will be accepted at the Cherryvale Community Center. Most items will be taken except explosives, asbestos, refrigerants, appliances with compressors, bricks, concrete or dirt. Appliances without refrigerant and compressors will be accepted at the city public works shop at 206 W 3rd.
City Clerk Karen Davis says tires will also be taken, but there is a small fee involved.
No tire disposal will be available on Saturday. Davis says hazardous waste will also be collected at the end of the week.
The collection at the community center will be available today, tomorrow and Thursday from 8 to 3:30, Friday from 8 a.m. To 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. The city brush dump will also be open to drop off leaves and limbs.
