The City of Coffeyville is hitting the pause button on utility billing date changes.

 

That's the word from Coffeyville City Manager Ben Brubaker. There are three different billing dates across the city, and an attempt was made to shift some of the bill due dates by a few days. Coffeyville City Clerk Melissa Carter tells KGGF this change led to some unintended consequences.

 

Carter and Brubaker say if you've already received a bill with the new due dates, the city will honor your original due date.

 

Brubaker says City staff will regroup to better explain why they're making this change, what the new dates will be, how to pay and ensure everyone gets more advance notice next time.
