Oklahoma hunters can currently apply for the chance to take part in controlled hunts of deer, elk, antelope and turkey.
Controlled hunts are held by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation in public hunting areas where unrestricted [public hunting might cause safety concerns or where overharvest might occur. The number of permits for controlled hunts is limited and the overall odds of being chosen is about one in twenty-five.
O-D-W-C has made a few changes to the program for this year that will improve features for potential hunters. Hopeful hunters should apply by May 20.
