A Kansas man is one of three victims who died Friday night when a small plane crashed northwest of Omaha.

Authorities say 43-year-old Daniel Williams of Moundridge, KS, was traveling with two individuals from Fremont, NE, when the plane crashed into the Platte River around 8pm on Friday. The crash was not discovered until a passerby noticed the plane submerged in the water early Saturday morning.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash.
