The ICC Board of Trustees will meet tonight for its regular monthly meeting.

 

On tonight’s agenda will be a continuation of the ongoing discussion regarding the addition of a welding program to the school’s course work. Trustees have been hesitant to give an official go-ahead for the project in the past months, citing the start-up costs for the program as the primary reason. School officials have continued to pursue state and federal grants to help offset those costs.

 

Also on tonight’s agenda will be a request from Academic Affairs to takes students from the Upward Bound Summerfest program for an overnight trip in June to tour the University of Oklahoma. The cost is anticipated to be around $12,000 for forty students and four chaperones. The cost of the trip would be covered by a grant.

 

Trustees are also expected to approve the early retirement of history professor Dr. Isaias McCaffrey.

 

Tonight’s meeting begins at 5:30 in the Fab Lab Building on the ICC main campus. The public is invited to attend.
