A Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy is honored for his life-saving efforts.

Deputy Chad Niver was recently presented with a commendation and a medal from Sheriff Ron Wade for his action on March 25. On that day, Deputy Niver responded to a call involving a suspected opioid overdose just outside of Coffeyville. After arriving on the scene and assessing the situation, Deputy Niver administered Narcan to the unresponsive individual. The person then regained consciousness and was taken to the hospital for further medical care.

Sheriff Wade thanked Niver for his efforts and stated that his actions made a huge difference on that day.
