Several officers from the Parsons Police Department are honored for their investigative work.

The officers received this recognition this week at the Annual Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police Spring Conference in Mulvane.  Lieutenant Detective Sherri McGuire, Sergeant Detective Brice Dickens, Sergeant Detective Tony Adamson and Sergeant Detective Timothy Gilliland were honored with the Bronze Unit Citation for Uncommon Valor based on the work to uncover a regional drug trafficking ring in 2023. The joint effort in conjunction with the KBI, DEA, and Labette County Sheriff's Office ultimately led to multiple federal indictments for drug trafficking.  Members of the KBI and the DEA were also present to accept awards on their agencies' behalf.
