Four Arrested in Cherryvale Drug Bust

 

Four people are in custody on drug charges following the search of a residence in Cherryvale.

 

Last Thursday, April 10, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), and officers from the Cherryvale Police Department executed a search warrant in the 200 block of N. Neosho Street in Cherryvale. During the search, officers found over 6 grams of powdered fentanyl with a street value of around $6,000 along with methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Officers also found multiple firearms and other stolen items linked to an open Montgomery County Sheriff's Office investigation.

 

Arrested at the scene were 39-year-old Jeremiah McKenzie, 39-year-old Ashley Melia, 24- year-old Ragan Myers, and 29-year-old Destany Freeman. All four were taken to the Montgomery County Jail where they face multiple charges. The case will be sent to the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office for formal charging.

 

The investigation remains ongoing.
