Drivers in Independence may notice some road closures in the city today.

 

Phase 2 construction of the City's Central Park Sports Complex on Park Boulevard continues this week, and construction that began today will cause the closure of East Sycamore Street near the complex. The closure is to allow crews to rebuild the road while adding improvements to the sports complex parking area.

 

The closure is expected to last 6 weeks.

 

The City of Independence reminds drivers and pedestrians alike to use caution when walking or driving near the work zone.
