Results were canvassed yesterday during the Montgomery County Commission meeting concerning the recent school bond issue for Caney USD 436.

During last night's USD 436 board meeting, the election results were briefly discussed, with an emphasis placed on why the bond issue failed by a wide margin. Reasons given by voters varied from the total cost of the project to the Trump Administration's tariff battle with China.
A special session of USD 436 will be held Monday, May 5th at 6:00 p.m. to go into more detail about the bond issue and how to move forward. Voters are encouraged to contact a board member or Superintendent Blake Vargas with more details on why they voted for or against the measure.
