Winter wheat continues to develop in southeast Kansas, with 81% jointed according to the latest crop progress and condition report. That leads the statewide average of 46%. Corn planting is also underway, with 57% planted in southeast Kansas.
Condition is rated 39% fair, 38% good and 5% excellent in Kansas, with very similar numbers for Oklahoma.
Topsoil moisture is rated 45% adequate in Kansas and 58% adequate in Oklahoma.
