Woes Continue on South Buckeye Street Project in Coffeyville

The South Buckeye Street Project in Coffeyville continues to face delays.

The project, which is under the administration of Montgomery County, was originally planned to be finished last December. However, a series of unforeseen incidents and bad weather means the project is still under construction. County Public Works Director Brandon Beurskins told the Montgomery County Commission this week that the contractor had planned to have the asphalt complete last week. But, Beurskins says, the project has faced yet another setback.

The fire at the Pittsburg asphalt plant means the contractor has had to find a new supplier. Beurskins says this means a longer trip to deliver the asphalt.

Beurskins says he hopes the project will be finished this week.
