An Ark City Police Officer can now add “cowboy” to his list of skills.
On Thursday morning, Officer Patrick Shook responded to reports of a cow on the loose. Officer Shook quickly found himself in hot pursuit of the unhappy bovine as the animal led the officer on a chase across several streets and through several yards as he attempted to direct the animal away from some nearby railroad tracks and a passing train.
According to the Ark City Police Department Facebook page, After a little bit of chasing (and probably some questioning of life choices), Officer Shook successfully helped corral the runaway bovine — adding cow wranglin’ to his growing list of skills.
The Department added: “We’re pretty sure this wasn’t covered in the academy… but when duty calls, even if it moos, our officers answer!”
