The Independence Police Department is asking for the public’s help in the search for a man missing since 2020.

I-P-D says it is renewing its call for public assistance in the investigation into the disappearance of Detreck Julian Foster. Foster was last seen in Independence on April 12, 2020. Foster was officially reported missing on May 12, 2020, after he failed to contact family members. Detectives from the Independence Police along with agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation have been unable to locate Foster despite the ongoing investigation.

Foster is a black male who was 40 years old at the time of his disappearance and was described as being 5’9” tall and weighing 190 pounds. Anyone with information about the disappearance of Detreck Foster is asked to contact the Independence Police at 620-332-1700 or the K-B-I at 1-800-KS-CRIME.
