The City of Parsons approves a franchise agreement with KwikKom for the installation of Fiber Optics cable.
The vote came at this week's Parsons City Commission meeting. At issue was allowing the Internet company to access the right-of-way. The City has agreed to a similar contract with the IdeaTek company. Commissioner Eric Strait says he would like to see the companies work together for the sake of residents.
City Attorney Ross Albertini says the agreement is little more than a formality.
The commission approved the agreement on a unanimous vote.
