Following months of discussion and negotiation, Wilson County Commissioners have officially approved the Sunflower Skies solar project.

 

The case was tabled to today's meeting following discussion at the March 26th meeting. Following a brief executive session, the commissoners made the motion to approve the project.

 

The solar project can now move forward to the construction phase, with work expected to begin this summer. Attorney Jacob Bielenberg, who has been advising the commission through the project, says he will continue to work with the Sunflower representatives.

 

The commission will meet next week on April 16th at 9 a.m. in Room 101 of the County Courthouse. There will be no meeting on the 23rd due to the Easter holiday.
