The City of Parsons has a new City Manager.

 

Parsons has hired Jeff Cantrell to fill the position. The Parsons City Commission made the decision to hire Cantrell after a work session last week. City Attorney Ross Albertini says Cantrell will be hired under a three-year contract.

 

The vote to hire Cantrell was a unanimous decision. Cantrell has as City Manager for the City of Chanute and for the City of Hutchinson. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Central Missouri and has a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. Cantrell says he plans on focusing on bringing housing and jobs to the City. 

 

Cantrell takes over for Debbie Lamb, who retired in March.
