A Kansas Highway Patrol and the Labette County Sheriff's Office nab several impaired drivers at a weekend sobriety checkpoint.
The checkpoint was set up at the intersection of US-400 and Wallace Road east of Parsons over the weekend. K-H-P reports 402 vehicles passed through the checkpoint between 9pm and 1am on Friday night. Of those, 9 drivers were pulled aside for sobriety tests. One driver was found to have an open container in the car and was arrested for DUI. Four other vehicles had open containers in addition to marijuana.. Another driver was arrested for a felony warrant and being a felony in possession of a firearm.
