A two-vehicle accident just west of Columbus leaves one man dead.
The fatal accident occurred yesterday morning on US-160 when Randy Kirkpatrick of Oswego attempted to pass two semitrucks at once. His Nissan Xterra collided head-on with a Chevy pickup truck driven by Alan Christmas. Christmas sustained fatal injuries in the crash, while Kirkpatrick was seriously injured. He was taken to a Labette County hospital for treatment.
