Moran Questions Boeing CEO During Senate Hearing

Kansas Senator Jerry Moran looks to assure the public that air travel is safe.

Moran made the comments during this week's Senate Commerce Committee hearing. The Senator questioned Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg about the steps the company is taking to ensure public safety on their aircraft. Moran says that's especially important in light of the recent accident.

Moran also questioned Ortberg about Boeing's acquisition of Spirit Aerosystems and the future of the company in Kansas. Ortberg says the company has no plans to move work out of the state.

Ortberg added that once the acquisition closes, Boeing hopes to find opportunities to do even more work in Kansas. Boeing is currently the largest private employer in the state, employing about 12,000 people.
