Nowata School Bond Issue Passes

 

The two school bond issues on Tuesday's ballot for the Nowata School District pass with overwhelming support.

 

Voters in Nowata gave their approval to a pair of bond issues that will fund improvements to the district's school buildings and purchase new buses for student transportation. The two proposals each received 79% of the vote.

 

Other results from Tuesday's vote include the election of Tony Holland to the Copan School Board. Voters in Copan also turned down two of three propositions, with voters approving only Proposition 3.

 

 In the Town of Ochelata Board of Trustees election, Charles Calvert and Chance Nissen were elected, while for the Town of Ramona Board of Trustees, Elizabeth Robledo and David Shaw won.

 

Gary Allen was elected to the Barnsdall City Council and Matthew Bragg and Patrick Young won seats on the Skiatook City Council. For the Hominy Public Schools Board of Education, Fanci Tucker was declared the winner and in the election for the Avant Board of Trustees, Shearl Brinson and Robert Stanley were victorious.
