The final storm spotter talk for southeast Kansas is tonight in Independence.

Meteorologists from the Wichita office of the National Weather Service will share an in-depth weather presentation and teach the audience about the different types of storms, the individual storm features that help a person to recognize a storm's potential severity and how to report hazardous weather safety. Each year's presentation is created from scratch and shares new developments in the world of weather forecasting as well, in addition to recent storm examples.

Storm Fury on the Plains starts at 6:30 tonight at Memorial Hall in Independence. The public is welcome and there's no charge to attend.
