The Nowata County Commission hears more updates on improvements to the county courthouse.
At this week's meeting, commissioners addressed new improvements to the Nowata County Courthouse, including lighting and maintenance in the jail and to a breaker box.
Commissioner Troy Friddle says having more efficient light fixtures can make a difference.
The commissioners also approved a motion for an Oklahoma Department of Transportation claim at a low water crossing at Hickory Creek, and acknowledged a memorandum of understanding announcing that the Nowata First Baptist Church can be used as a temporary shelter in case of emergency.
The commissioners also approved a $3,000 transfer of funds for the Nowata County Sheriff's Office.
The Nowata County Commissioners meet every Monday morning at 9am at the Nowata County Courthouse Annex.
