The National Weather Service Storm Spotter Training will be held this Thursday in Independence.

Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Wichita will present the Storm Fury on the Plains program to provide weather education and training for those in attendance. The program will instruct attendees on how to recognize a storm's potential severity and on how to report hazardous and severe weather safely.

The presentation will take place at Memorial Hall at 6pm. Admission is free and no registration is required to attend.
