The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Commission discusses night vision coyote hunting in the state.
The commission met last Thursday in Topeka to discuss and head public comments on regulations currently under consideration by the state agency. Among those topics was the night vision coyote hunting season, which currently runs from January 1st through March 31st. K-D-W-P Secretary Christopher Kennedy says it's important to find a balance between population control and conservation.
The commission agreed to consider a change to the season that would have it begin on February 1st and run through June 30th. Other topics for consideration included season, bag limits, and permits for elk and waterfowl. The next meeting of the K-D-W-P Commission will be on April 24 in Fall River.
