A Joplin man is injured after being struck by a train while walking along the railroad tracks.
Authorities say the adult male was experiencing a mental health emergency when he began walking along the railroad tracks south of 15th Street around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. The engineer in the southbound C-P-K-S train saw the man and applied the emergency brakes just before the accident occurred.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital but there has been no word on his condition.
