The Independence City Commission will consider a request from the Barlett plant to revise their current contract for waste water at tonight's meeting.
Commissioners have previously approved an agreement with the soybean crushing facility to accept up to 50,000 gallons of waste water per day. Bartlett has requested to increase that amount to 75,000 gallons per day at a cost of $10 per thousand gallons from the company. That cost would provide a rate that is comparable to what residential customers outside the city limits pay for the service.
The commission is also expected to approve the installation of two streetlights at Spruce and 11th Street for pedestrian safe ty and to approve the application for a C-CLIP grant for the milling and overlay of East Main from 2nd Street to the city limits.
Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30 in the Commission Room at City Hall. The meeting is open to the public and is also available for online view via the City website.
