The ongoing Wilson County zoning case regarding the Sunflower Skies solar project is approaching a conclusion.
The commission met this week with representatives from Savion Renewable Energy and Evergy, both of whom have been consistent contributers to the project's development. The commissioners went into executive session to review the most recent information.
Attorney Jacob Bielenberg has provided legal counsel to the commission for the project, after recommendation from County Attorney Brandon Cameron. Bielenberg says his recommendation is to wait a little longer before making a decision.
The commission determined that they were not ready to make an official ruling on the case at this time, and tabled the decision to the meeting in two weeks.
The next meeting for Wilson County will be April 2nd at 9 a.m. in Room 101 of the County Courthouse, with the next zoning hearing during the April 9th meeting.
