An Arizona man arrested in Iola in March 2024 for kidnapping and sexual exploitation of a minor is sentenced to 95 years in prison.
A federal judge handed down the sentence to 27-year-old Martin Brandon Gillen of Phoenix, Arizona, this week. The U.S. Attorney's Office states that Gillen entered a guilty plea to multiple charges, including one count of kidnapping, one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, and one count of possession of child pornography.
Gillen was accused of kidnapping a 17-year-old girl in Illinois, transporting her through multiple states, and assaulting her on several occasions.
This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Iola Police Department, the New Baden, Illinois, Police Department, and the Illinois State Police.
