Agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are involved in a shooting in Kansas City.

 

The agents were involved in a shooting that occurred last night as they were attempting to serve a warrant in Kansas City, Kansas. Agents were in the process of making an arrest, a 25-year-old male subject at the El Rio Bravo Supermarket was shot. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to recover from his wounds. It is unclear if the shooting victim was the target of the arrest.

 

KBI states that no agents were injured in the incident but that the agent involved in the shooting was medically evaluated and later released.

 

The agent has been placed on paid administrative leave pending further investigation.

 

The KBI has requested the shooting be investigated by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police.
