Kansas Lawmakers Debate Waterfowl Restrictions on Out-of-State Hunters

Kansas lawmakers are currently debating a bill that would limit out-of-state individuals to hunting waterfowl to three days a week.

The proposal would raise the cost of hunting permits and limit non-Kansans to hunting waterfowl on public lands to Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. Senator Virgil Peck is one of the proponents of the bill and stated that part of the reason for the bill is that migratory birds have changed their flight patterns due to excessive hunting.

The Bill is currently under discussion by the House Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources.
