Human remains found recently near Columbus are thought to be those of a missing 19-year-old man.

Jaden Santini was originally reported missing in December of 2023. When the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office recently received a call, notifying them of human remains found in a wooded area west of Columbus, authorities worked quickly to confirm the identity of the individual. Personal items found near the skeletal remains identified the person as Jaden Santini.

The county coroner will confirm the identity of the remains, but Santini's family has been notified. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says foul play is not suspected in the case.
