A late night car accident in Reno County leaves one dead and two more seriously injured.
The accident occurred around 9:30 last night just east of Hutchinson at the intersection of Airport Road and 17th Avenue. A 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by 37-year-old Preston Lewis of Hutchinson was traveling westbound on 17th Avenue when he crossed the center line for an unknown reason. He then collided head-on with a 2023 Buick Envision driven by 61-year-old Helen Blevins. Blevins sustained fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger in her vehicle – 29-year-old Stephanie Blevins – was seriously injured. Lewis also sustained serious injuries. Both he and the younger Blevins were transported to the Hutchinson Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
