Fredonia City Commission Votes for New Police Department Location

The Fredonia City Commission approves a new location for the City's Police Department.

The building that currently houses the Fredonia Police Department has fallen into disrepair and the city has been exploring options for a new place to locate the force. City Administrator Evan Bolt says the city considered several different options.

One of the locations considered by the city commission was 515 Madison Street. Commissioner Bill Jones, who is also a former member of the Fredonia Police Department, says the Madison Street location would be an excellent upgrade for the department.

Mayor Allen Miller and Commissioner Brandon Tindle agreed with Jones and voted in favor of moving the police headquarters to the Madison Street location. The move is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.
