Fire danger returns for the region today, although some rain chances are on the way.
A red flag warning will be in effect starting at 10 a.m. for the entire four-state area and continue through early evening. Winds could gust to 40 mph and afternoon humidity is expected to be very low. Outdoor burning should be avoided today.
The chance of rain is on the increase for the weekend, though, with Coffeyville and eastern Kansas seeing at least a 50% chance of some rain tomorrow evening and overnight. Storms are not expected to be severe, but could produce some dime to quarter-size hail.
