Two rural water districts in Northern Wilson County will be merging.
The county will be combining District No. 5 and District No. 7 together. Fredonia City Attorney John Chenoweth says the area of the merger is in the northeast part of the county.
Rural water District No. 5 has been the primary provider for Benedict for decades, but has experienced more difficulty in recent years. Following discussion, the commission unanimously approved the motion.
Additional items of note at this week's meeting were updates from County Clerk Kayla Busch, County Coordinator Kris Marple, and Road and Bridge Director Kary Tatum. The commission will meet next on Wednesday, March 26th, at 9 a.m. in Room 101 of the County Courthouse.
