A Neodesha High School Senior receives a youth leadership award. Senior Tucker Leck was presented the John Lewis Youth Leadership Award by Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab.
Leck says he was surprised to see the Secretary of State and his parents enter his third-hour class. The award honors the accomplishments of Congressman John Lewis and is a way for the National Association of Secretaries of State to recognize gifted, civic-minded youth in their state each year.
Leck says he was recognized for his work in getting people registered to vote. Leck is the first Kansan to win this award. You can hear the full interview with him here.
