Cherryvale Approves City Employee Compensation, Clears Up Cemetery Legal Issue

The City of Cherryvale is approving an updated compensation package for city employees.

City Manager Michael Hall says the pay scales hadn't been updated in about three years.

Hall says it's important to try and remain competitive when it comes to wages. Department directors' pay will be between $1,750 and a maximum of $2,900 per pay period. Hourly employees will be paid between $10 an hour up to a maximum of $25 per hour depending on the position.

In other business, the council approved the annexation of Fairview Cemetery after it was realized that the Cemetery wasn't technically within city limits.

The Council also gave their support to Wreaths Across America representatives for their event on December 13th to honor veterans.
