Like many other counties in southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma, emergency management takes center stage at this week's Nowata County Commission meeting.

 

County Emergency Management Director Laurie Summers says the risk of fire remains high as strong winds remain in the forecast.

 

In other business, the commission continued last week's discussion on courthouse improvements, involving piping in the mapping office and other maintenance.

 

Commissioners also signed corrected claims of reimbursement from the Nowata County Election Board and passed a resolution for an equipment disposal correction.
