A Chanute man is injured in a Friday evening crash near Yates Center.

The accident occurred around 5:15pm on US-54 about 6 miles east of Yates Center. 18-year-old Noah Vogel was stopped on the highway, waiting for another vehicle to make a turn, when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2018 Chevy Malibu driven by 49-year-old Ronald De Voe, also of Chanute. De Voe attempted to avoid the accident by swerving but struck the rear passenger side of Vogel’s car. De Voe received minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola for treatment.

Vogel and a passenger in his car were both uninjured.
