A Neodesha FFA Advisor is named the Southeast District Finalist for the Kansas Golden Owl Award.

 

Ag Teacher Emma Lehmann says it was an honor just to be nominated for the award. Lehmann says her 3rd-grade teacher, Mrs. Fisher, inspired her to be a teacher, and the first day of her ag class led her to become an FFA Advisor.

 

Lehmann received a plaque and a $500 check as a district finalist. She now advances to the final selection stage, where one teacher will be named Kansas Ag Educator of the Year, receiving an additional $3,000 Nationwide-funded check and the Golden Owl Award trophy. The winner will be announced at the Kansas State FFA Convention in May.
