No outdoor burning is allowed in Nowata because of extreme fire danger.

According to the Nowata Fire Department, outdoor burning is not allowed within city limits because of ongoing dry conditions and expected fire weather on Friday. Grilling food and smoking meat and other food is ok at this time, but open flames are prohibited. The Nowata Fire Department will advise the public when burning is once again allowed.
