The City of Howard in Elk County is asking residents for patience as they work out the bugs with the new utility billing software.
Officials report that city offices are switching to a new software and that the change has caused delays in the mailing of this month's utility bills. As a result, the late penalty has been postponed. Officials say any customer can call the City or stop by in person, and your bill will be figured by hand.
The City anticipates sending out paper bills for the January 15 billing period soon, but advises they will arrive in regular envelopes and not on postcards. Billing for the City of Howard should return to normal next month.
