USD 446 is looking for someone to fill a spot on the Independence Recreation Commission board that opens up later this year.
The district has two representatives that serve on the five-person board, and serve four-year staggered terms. Chairperson Christy Mavers has her term ending in July of this year.
USD 446 Superintendent Jason McAfee says he wants to begin the process of selecting a new representative.
The board unanimously approved the motion to begin receiving applications until the April 11th deadline.
Additionally, the district approved a motion to form a co-op girls swimming team with Coffeyville Field Kindley, on a one season deal. McAfee says the partnership has worked well in the past.
The next USD 446 meeting will be April 14th at 7 p.m. in the IHS Library.
