The Montgomery County Clerk's Office prepares for an upcoming election while the Health Department looks to expand training.
That was the report at this week's Montgomery County Commission meeting. County Clerk Ami Standridge gave her quarterly report to the commission, and says that the reorganization of the Clerk's Office was nearly complete and that all would be ready for the upcoming April bond election in Caney.
The commission also heard about a training opportunity from Brandee Kirk with the County Health Department. Kirk says there is the opportunity to increase the number of local nurses trained in the treatment of victims of sexual assault.
Currently, victims must be transported to other locations – sometimes several hours away – for treatment.
At today's meeting, Montgomery County commissioners approved the purchase of a skid unit for Sycamore Rural Fire for $5600 and the purchase of a new water truck for Public Works for $141,000.
