A new civic organization is focused on lending a helping hand in the City of Parsons.

 

The American Advocacy Initiative is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote civic engagement, community togetherness, and to help advocate for people in need. The group is based in Parsons, but says it wants to help anywhere it can. Board President and Executive Director Taylor Moreland recently spoke before the Parsons City Commission. Moreland says the group's most recent effort was a clothing drive for local schools and had great support.

 

The group also promotes community activities in Parsons. City Commissioner Tom Shaw says he thinks the group will really help the Parsons community.
