Authorities at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility announce the death of a second inmate, just days after the death of another man.

 

Last week, the facility announced the death of 57-year-old Lamoine Weibe who was found unresponsive in his cell on Saturday, March 1. Corrections authorities say a second inmate was found deceased on Monday, March 3. On that day, 24-year-old Devon Stutesman was found unresponsive in his cell.

 

Stutesman was serving a 10-year sentence for convictions of possession and distribution of heroin and an attempt to traffic firearms into a correctional facility in Lyon County.

 

The Deaths of both men are being investigated by the Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The cause of death in each case is pending the results of an autopsy.
