A Longton home is a complete loss after a weekend fire.

According to the Elk County Rural Fire Department, last night just before 10 p.m., the Longton, Moline and Howard Fire Departments responded to structure fire at a home in Longton. Upon arrival ,heavy flames were visible. An interior attack was attempted but crews had to withdraw due to structural compromise and undertook a defensive position. The house was a complete loss. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
