Kansas Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall have joined with Democrat and Republican colleagues to introduce the Access to Credit for our Rural Economy or ACRE Act.
The legislation would provide greater flexibility to more financial institutions to offer affordable lines of credit to rural and agricultural borrowers. The ACRE Act would amend the Internal Revenue Code to exclude interest received on certain loans secured by rural or agricultural property from gross income while also allowing rural borrowers access to lower interest rates.
The Kansas Senators join Republicans Kevin Cramer of North Dakota and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, Democrat Ruben Gallego of Arizona and Maine Independent Angus King in sponsoring the bill.
